“What has been mainly distinctive of my work…is an atmosphere of high standard elegance with a glance to independence of mind and fun toward "les ideés reçues." (misconceptions.)” Bernard Perris
Bernard Perris is a French designer that fully embodies the expression “more is more.” His over the top glamourous style dominated the late 1980’s with theatrical, highly detailed gowns. He began his career at age 16 where he was hired as a design assistant to Guy Laroche in Paris. He went on to open his own shop where he designed expensive debutante gowns for the Paris elite. During the 1970’s when the hippy look was in fashion his popularity waned, it wasn’t until the glamor of the 1980’s where Perris’ love for volume and elegance was celebrated.
