Gina Fratini, born Georgia Butler, is a British designer with a penchant for romantic fashion. She’s best known for her use of lace, ruffles, and embroidery techniques. Born in Japan and spending most of her childhood in India, Fratini was well cultured at an early age. She started designing in1964 but didn’t gain major recognition until about a decade after. Her bridal collection was a hit during the mid 1980’s when excess was expected. Elizabeth Taylor wore a Fratini gown for her second marriage and Princess Diana was also a fan, frequently wearing the designer’s clothes in public appearances. Fratini’s feminine looks have spanned the ages, allowing her vintage pieces to feel current.
