1970s Bob Mackie Beaded Sequin Paillette Gown

$ 3,400.00

This is an incredible beaded gown by Bob Mackie from the 1970s or 1980s. Made in gunmetal and black, its dark sheen is sophisticated and glamorous. The gown is cut in a kimono-like silhouette, with a straight skirt, wrap-fronted bodice, deep-V back, and wide sleeves cut in one with the torso. The belt effect is rendered with beads that shimmer in a multitude of colours beneath the dark silver, and the same effect is reflected elsewhere in the pattern. This pattern consists of diamond panes and cutouts like digital cells, scales, or leaded glass, shaded with dark sequins and beaded outlines to give them texture and a 3D appearance. The all-over beading and cutouts are striking, yet the garment's dark glimmer and classic silhouette keep the look elegant. This gown is stunning and timeless, and is sure to hit all the right notes.
